What you can expect:
Discover the authentic side of Venice on board of boats that have made the history of this city: on the "Batea da Fresco", a flat-bottom boat with lively colors, and the "Gondola of the '600", built on the basis of a detailed historical reconstruction, you will have the unique privilege of visiting and navigating through the canals of the city just as the Venetians used to do in past centuries.
The Venetian Gloria Rogliani, famous champion of the oar, will accompany you in this journey that differs from the usual tours and touristic itineraries, guiding you in learning the Venetian rowing techniques, telling the history and the curiosities of the city and offering you a new and fun way to experience Venice and its secular traditions.
The meeting point is in front of Grand Hotel dei Dogi, where Gloria Rogliani or one of her instructors will accompany you to the Cavana Tintoretto, a typical Venetian covered shelter for boats. After an introduction on the techniques and on how to row, you will depart towards the Venetian lagoon.
The visit ends at Cavana Tintoretto, located in the district of Cannaregio that you will have the chance to explore by yourself: walking off the most touristic parts of the city, you will discover the most ancient Jewish Ghetto in the world, one of the greatest example of gothic Church in Venice that contains Tintoretto’s masterpieces, La Chiesa della Madonna dell’Orto, Ca’ D’Oro palace and many others.
At the end of the tour, you will receive a certificate of attendance to the venetian rowing class.
